The Gold Ven LLC was founded by Charles Gray, a former investment banker and corporate attorney who left large institutions to work directly with owners and boards.
Our philosophy
Most consulting firms sell certainty. We sell perspective. The difference is that we do not pretend to know your business better than you do. We bring pattern recognition from hundreds of similar situations and the discipline to ask questions you have been avoiding.
We do not take equity, success fees, or commissions. Our compensation is a fixed monthly retainer, so our advice is never influenced by the size of a transaction.
What we value
No conflicts
We do not broker deals, manage money, or sell products. Our only interest is the quality of our advice.
Absolute discretion
We do not discuss client matters, confirm relationships, or maintain public case studies.
Plain language
We write and speak plainly. If a recommendation cannot be explained in a paragraph, it is not ready.
Long-term thinking
We advise for the next decade, not the next quarter. Short-term wins that create long-term problems are not wins.
Charles Gray
Charles spent twenty years in New York finance and law before returning to Hartford. He holds degrees from Yale and Columbia and has served on the boards of three Connecticut companies.
